10 Most Common Reasons GCC Licence Applications Get Rejected (And the Fixes)

After hundreds of candidate files, the same ten mistakes keep causing rejections and month-long delays. Check your file against this list before you submit anything.

Almost every rejected GCC licensing file fails for a preventable reason. These are the ten we see most, with the exact fix for each.

1. Experience letters without exact dates

Month-only letters ("March 2019 to June 2022") get queried by SCFHS and DOH committees. Fix: re-issue with DD/MM/YYYY start and end dates, stamped, with a named signatory.

2. Good Standing expired at review time

The 6-month window counts at the authority's review, not at submission. Fix: order it late in the Dataflow window — full timing strategy in our Good Standing guide.

3. Name spelled differently across documents

Passport says "Mohammed", degree says "Muhammad" — Dataflow flags it. Fix: notarised name-variation affidavit submitted with the package.

4. Unexplained employment gaps

Any uncovered months since graduation raise queries. Fix: signed self-declaration covering each gap (career break, study, relocation) — authorities accept honest declarations.

5. Qualification not on the recognised list

Every authority maintains recognised-institution registers. Fix: check before applying; if unlisted, file the equivalency request first (adds 4–8 weeks — better than a rejection).

6. Wrong title tier applied for

Applying Specialist without a recognised board, or Consultant with thin post-specialty years, gets downgraded or bounced. Fix: map your documents to the tier rules first — see the tier tables in our SCFHS and DHA guides.

7. Experience letters missing HR contact details

Dataflow verifies by contacting the issuer. No phone/email = unverifiable. Fix: every letter needs official letterhead, stamp, and a reachable HR contact.

8. Incomplete attestation chain

Apostille alone isn't enough for the UAE, Qatar or Kuwait. Fix: complete the full chain — home MOFA → target-country embassy → target-country MOFA.

9. Internship certificate bundled into the degree

Authorities want a standalone internship completion letter with dates and hospital details. Fix: request it separately from your university/teaching hospital.

10. Booking the exam before you're ready

Not a file rejection — but a failed Prometric attempt adds ~3 months. Fix: book only when full-length timed mocks consistently clear 75%.
