GCC Medical Licensing FAQ: Authorities, Exams and Fees

These are the questions we are asked most often by doctors, dentists, nurses, midwives, pharmacists and allied health professionals who are moving into the Gulf. The answers are short and specific, and each one points to the page where the full detail sits.

Which GCC licensing authorities do you handle?

We handle DHA, DOH, MOHAP, SHA and DCAS in the UAE, SCFHS in Saudi Arabia, QCHP in Qatar, NHRA in Bahrain, OMSB in Oman and the Ministry of Health in Kuwait. We take the file from eligibility assessment through to licence issuance. You can see how each one works on our authorities pages.

How do I find out which licence and title I am eligible for?

Use our eligibility check. Most results come back within 30 seconds. Where a licensing officer has to confirm something it can take up to 24 hours. It tells you which authority and which title you qualify for before you spend anything else.

How much does your licensing support cost?

One-time fees, not monthly. Doctors and dentists pay AED 2,000 at Tier 1, AED 1,500 at Tier 2 and AED 800 at Tier 3. Nurses and allied health professionals pay AED 1,500, AED 1,000 and AED 500 for the same three tiers. If you are not sure which tier applies to you, ask us before you pay anything.

Do you provide Prometric exam preparation?

What are the EMREE exam dates, fees and pass mark?

EMREE runs from December to March each year. The fee is AED 1,000 per attempt and you get three attempts a year. The published pass mark for the 2025 to 2026 cycle was 60 percent. Remember that it is a residency entrance exam and not a licence. Our EMREE guide covers the timeline in full.

What is SCFHS classification and can you help with it?

SCFHS classification is the title Saudi Arabia assigns you, for example Technician, Specialist or Consultant, based on your qualification and experience. It decides which exam you sit and which salary band you land in. We review your documents and advise before you apply. There is a longer explanation in our Mumaris Plus classification guide.

Do you handle DataFlow verification?

Yes. DataFlow is the primary source verification step every GCC authority requires. We prepare the file, handle the submission and follow up when it stalls, which is where most of the delay usually happens. Our DataFlow guide explains what each stage means.

When should I request my certificate of good standing?

Later than most people think. It is valid for six months from the issue date, not from the day you submit it. We usually advise ordering it when DataFlow is about three weeks from finishing, adjusted for how slow your own council is. Our good standing guide goes through the timing.

Can nurses get GCC licensing support from you?
