General Requirements
- Open to medical, dental and pharmaceutical professionals seeking post-graduation / residency in the UAE under DHA, DOH or MOHAP.
- Open to UAE residents and international medical graduates (IMGs) with no more than a 5-year gap since graduation.
- Long clinical gaps significantly reduce the chance of a residency match.
- Data flow verification of documents and an English language proficiency test are required at the time of residency application.
How to Register
- Register through the National Institute for Health Specialties, complete all details and pay the required fee.
- Registration is first come, first served — it closes as soon as seats fill, regardless of the published closing date.
- The registration fee is non-refundable.
- IMGs need a visit visa to sit the exam, which is held in Al Ain, UAE.
After the Exam
- A score of 55% or higher is a pass.
- Results are announced within 10 working days and emailed to candidates.
Attempts
- Up to 4 attempts per year are allowed to reach a passing score.
- The more re-attempts on record, the lower the chance of matching into a UAE residency program.
